DISTRICT5@VFWMI.ORGjk                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    My name is Eddie Dandridge Sr. I am married to Rosalyn Dandridge, we have 5 children and 5 grand children. I joined the Air Force in 1966-1970, assigned to Basic Training at Lackland AFB, in San Antonio, TX. After Basic Training I was assigned to 2nd  Air Force Strategic Air Command's 379th Bomb Wing B-52 Bomber & KC- 135 Tanker Wing, in Oscoda, MI. November 1967 I was  assigned to 379th Supply Squadron's Materiel Facilities Section of Base Supply. 1968 went TDY assignment to The 77th Munition Maintenance Bomb Squadron. After a break in Service I entered the Air Force Reserves in 1977 with The 403rd Rescue Weather & Reconnaissance Wing at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, MI. In 1986 I was assigned to the 927th Tactical Airlift Wing where the Wing was deployed to Desert Shield / Desert Storm October 1990-September 1991, that is when I received my VFW eligibility. While in the Area Of Operation I was assigned to the 1650th Airlift Wing Provisional flying out of Mirage Air Base in the UAE & all around the Middle East. When I came back to the States I received an assignment to the Air Force Materiel Command's 653rd Air Base, Wing as Logistics Superintendent at Robins AFB, GA. On 01 September 1994 I was promoted to the high Rank of Chief Master Sergeant, Pay Grade E-9, a month later I was assigned as Chief Advisor to the 78th Air Base Wing Commander at Robins AFB, GA. I am a proud Gold Legacy Life Member in The Veterans Of Foreign Wars Oskar A. Andreas VFW Post 1794 in Mount Clemens, Red Star Life Member in The Military Order Of The Cootie, The Honor Degree Of The VFW, Caraboa Pup Tent 32 VFW Post 3243 in Fenton, Paid Up For Life Member American Legion Post 4 in Mount Clemens, Life Member AmVets Post 29 in Mount Clemens, Member PLAV Post 6 in Hamtramck, Life Member Camp Trotter, Life Member VFW National Home, & Life Member of The Non Commission Officers Academy Graduate Association. Graduate Of Detroit College Of Business. Graduate Of The Air Force Command NCO Academy with Honors Class 85-3, Graduate Of The Air Force Senior NCO Academy Class 86-4. After I joined the Air Force in 1966 I had no idea I would serve 35 years. After being stationed at Robins AFB, GA for my last 10 years of service I retired 01 July 2004. I am a Past All State Post Commander for VFW Post 1794 in 2017-2018, our Post received The National Community Service Post Award for 2017-2018, I received The 5th District Outstanding Post Commander Of The Year Trophy in 2017-2018, Past Macomb County Council Commander in 2017-2018, Member of The Department Of Michigan State Honor Guard Team during 2016-2018. I entered the District as a Trustee 2016-2018, then District Jr. Vice Commander in 2018-2019, District Sr. Vice Commander in 2019-2020. I am honored to have your trust & support to serve as your 5th District Commander 2020-2021 with The Veterans Of Foreign Wars. The Military Order Of The Cootie (MOC) The Honor Degree Of The Veterans Of Foreign Wars; I was Grand Provost Marshall 2016-2017, Grand Jr. Vice Commander Of Michigan 2017-2018, Grand Sr. Vice Commander Of Michigan 2018-2019 & Grand Commander Of Michigan 2019-2020. I was Awarded All Star Grand Commander 2019-2020 & The Grand Of Michigan received All Star Grand Award 2019-2020 a first in the 94 year history of The Grand Of Michigan (MOC). To the many amazing people I've worked with in The VFW & The MOC , you have been the force in everything the organization have achieved by us all working together as One Team! One Fight! We are facing challenging times right now & must find new ways to communicate & transact the Veterans Of Foreign Wars Business, sometimes in person meetings or via Zoom, we must be safe in all our decisions making.
